Protect Your Bike! (Bike Hack)

Here's a free way to protect your new bike - no matter what style of frame you're riding. It's an easy way to recycle an old tube, and takes just a few minutes to do, from start to finish. My other mountain bike came with a chainstay protector built in, but not every bike has a cover for the chain stay. Without this, you can have an issue with "chain slap", which is when the chain slaps against the bottom of the bike, causing scratches and dents in the frame. This is especially a serious issue when you have a carbon frame - but any bike deserves to be protected from it! In this video, we'll walk through how to protect your bike by recycling a tube, which is the easiest and cheapest way to effectively cover the frame and prevent damage. You can also order chainstay protectors, which are typically made from a neoprene material, but in the event that you don't want to wait for it to show up (or it's unavailable), this bike hack is a great option!
