I Put WATER In My Brakes!

I've always wanted to test water in my hydraulic brakes on my bike, but never lived in a spot where it was warm enough all year round to do it. In this video, we tested it out, replacing the oil that is normally in my hydraulic brakes for water - and taking it to a new spot to test them out!

The reason why you can use water in these particular hydraulic brakes is that they are rim brakes and don't build up heat the way that disc brakes do (I definitely would NOT recommend this on a disc brake -- and especially not on any motor vehicle). But for a pair of Magura HS-33s, it worked like a charm. I have heard some claims of seals swelling and brakes not working as well after years of use, but so far - so good. This is the best my brakes have ever felt!
